There are a variety of volunteer opportunities within Tellico Village that provide value to our community.  STAYinTV helps our community seniors age in place with the goal to help seniors live in their residence of choice as long as possible.  The Tellico Village Library recruits volunteers to help with tasks like book sales or delivering books to residents in local assisted living.  Do you have computer skills?  TellicoLife and/or TAP could use your help. In addition, Tellico Village has a volunteer Fire Department, a Boater Rescue program (T-BART), the Litter Angels that help keep our community clean to name a few.  More information about these opportunities are available on the POA website.

In our local greater community there is need as well for volunteers for a variety of activities from store front help to taking care of animals in need.

  • The Good Neighbor Shop is a premier resale shop whose mission is to give back to the community.  An all-volunteer staff runs the shop. You can volunteer or donate quality, gently used merchandise to be sold. The proceeds predominantly go to Loudon County organizations and the clients they serve. 
  • The Good Samaritan Center of Loudon County is an assistance ministry serving families' critical needs, helping them move from crisis to stability. 
  • CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is a volunteer-powered network of committed people who believe that every child has the right to be treated with dignity, to be safe, and to thrive in the embrace of a loving family. CASA volunteers advocate on behalf of abused and neglected children in juvenile court.
  • Habitat for Humanity of Loudon County are looking for heroes to fill key roles in day-to-day work including on construction sites, in the ReStore and in the administration office to further their mission in important ways. 
  • Smoky Mountain Service Dogs mission is to enhance the physical and psychological quality of life for wounded Veterans by providing custom trained mobility assistance service dogs (at no cost to the Veteran).  They need volunteers for activities such as a puppy raiser to canine transportation and more
  • Fort Loudoun Medical Center Their mission is to provide assistance to as many Fort Loudoun Medical Center departments as possible in order for the trained staff to perform their services in a professional and expeditious manner. Opportunities exist from assistance in the care departments to manning the gift shop and visiting with patients on request.
  • East Tennessee Miniature Horse and Donkey Rescue strives to be a safety net for miniature horses, donkeys and mules that are at risk of being homeless or going to auction.  Opportunities exist to assist with rescues, helping with maintenance and cleaning, training the rescues plus many more activities.
  • Friends of Animals of Loudon County and Monroe County Their mission is to provide for and continuously improve the health, happiness and fortunes of the homeless and abandoned cats and dogs in our counties.  They are looking for help at the animal shelters, foster parents, helping at adoption events and administration work like communications and thrift store support.
  • United Way of Loudon County and Monroe County works to improve the health, education, and financial stability of every person in our community. They are looking for volunteers to either donate time or give through annual campaigns.
  • Good Shepherd Center The mission of Good Shepherd Center for Homeless Women and Children is to empower women and their children to move from homelessness to self-sufficiency, through housing, employment and support services offered with dignity and love. Good Shepherd offers the core programs of shelter, food, case management, and support services, all designed to help guide homeless women every step of the way as they move from homelessness to self-sufficiency. They are looking for volunteers for fund raising, facilitating drives and workshops, communications and more.
