2024 Prime Time Players TourWith a grant from the Tellico Community Foundation, The Prime Time Players from the Tellico Community Theatre performed “Stories That Make Us Laugh” in Monroe and Loudon County schools to promote reading in young children. They gave 40 performances and donated books to 12 different elementary school libraries with support from the Tellico Community Foundation. |

Surveys sent to the schools provided feedback that the children were highly engaged and found the stories entertaining and that the performances were both instructional and motivating to the children. Both teachers and students sent their appreciation to the Players for visiting their school.
One teacher wrote: “We are a rural school with high poverty. Some of our students are blessed with families who have the ability and means to provide enriching experiences. But many of our students are simply not going to haven these opportunities unless they are at school. Thank you for valuing our kids so much that you would sacrifice your time for them.”
The mission of the Tellico Community Foundation is to enrich the Loudon and Monroe County communities by funding programs and projects that provide support for seniors and promote healthy childhood development.
