23 May Hometown Hero’s.  Learn about several local East Tennessee men who fought in World War II.  Also, a review of the women’s contribution to the war effort.  

30 May In my father’s footsteps.  The story of the 47th Infantry Regiment and their fight to free Europe from Nazi oppression.  Two generations of Thornton men traveled to Europe last October to better understand the struggle of my father’s generation.

6 June D-Day 79 years later.  Overview of the fight to get a foothold in Europe and several key battles that made sure the Allies would not be thrown back into the sea.  A brief look at the “other D-Days” and the war in the Pacific.
