Lawn Alternatives: Speaker Tom Samples, Professor, UT Emeritus

 The region’s foremost authority on turf grasses is changing his hat and will present lawn alternatives at the Thursday, April 6th meeting of the Tellico Village Garden Club.  Recently retired UT Emeritus Professor, Tom Samples, will provide insights on perennial ground covers currently gaining acceptance thought the country.  Irish moss, micro clovers creeping thymes, ajugas, and some sedge are a few to be examined.  These alternatives tend to spread rapidly, make  dense, uniform cover, are erosion resistant, and need lower maintenance.  This presentation will certainly offer new avenues for you.
