Have you ever driven past the locks at Fort Loudoun Dam and wondered what it would be like to take a boat through it? Now is your chance to meet a bunch of other New Villagers and have a relaxing day on the water.

At 11:00, we will all meet at the docks at the Yacht Club (docks directly behind the Yacht Club closest to the center of the lake. Once the boats are loaded, we will take off towards the locks. After all the boats enter the lock and tie up, we will get to watch as the water in the lock is lowered. Once the lock opens, we will be on Watt’s Bar Lake.

We will cruise down towards the city of Loudon, turn around, and find a place to raft-off for awhile. Then, it’s back towards the locks and back up onto Fort Loudoun Lake and home to Tellico Lake. (Fort Loudoun Lake and Tellico Lake are connected.) We should arrive back at the Yacht Club around 4:30.

Everyone will bring their own lunch and drinks for this cruise.

Keep in mind that commercial traffic has the right of way in the locks, so our passage through the locks could possibly be delayed either way.
