Who Are We?

The Tellico Village Top Notes Big Band plays music from the 30s and 40s made famous by Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Woody Herman, Tommy Dorsey, Count Basie and others. The Top Notes also plays covers of songs made famous by Frank Sinatra, Liza Minelli and other vocalists.  More modern songs for dancing are also played such as Bandstand Boogie and Sweet Caroline.  The band is made up of musicians playing Saxophone, Clarinet, Trumpet, Trombone, Keyboard, Drums, Guitar and Electric Bass, as well as both male and female vocalists.

Our goal is to offer the opportunity for former high school and college musicians to play their instruments in an informal setting. We perform at assisted living facilities, fund raisers, and at the Yacht Club. We are basically an amateur group although some members have more musical experience than others.  If you can play well enough to handle the arrangements and you enjoy playing, please contact us. Tryouts are informal and usually involve participating in a few rehearsals and talking to the band director.
