American Museum of Science & Energy U.S. Department of Energy/ Oak Ridge Facilities Bus Tour

Tour begins at the American Museum of Science and Energy Approximately 50 minute drive from Tellico Village

We will meet at The American Museum of Science and Energy. Doors open at 9:00 a.m. Arrive early to check in and visit the museum and watch videos prior to bus boarding time of 11:15 a.m.

Tour stops include the Y-12 History Center at the Y-12 National Security Complex's New Hope Center, the Spallation Neutron Source and historic Graphite Reactor at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and a drive-around the former K-25 plant site located at the East Tennessee Technology Park. Tour guides provide historical narrative along with information about current activities related to research and development, national security, and environmental clean-up. Be prepared to pay admission cost at the AMSE.
Cost: Adults $8.00, Seniors (65+) $5.00 includes admission to the American Museum of Science and Energy and the 3 hour bus tour.
Bus tour boards promptly at 11:15 a.m. ends at 2:30 p.m.
The guided bus tour includes highlights of the history of Oak Ridge and the history of science and technology at the three U.S. Department of Energy/Oak Ridge facilities.

$10.00 deposit check per person; will be returned to you on the day of the tour.

  • 10 years if age or older
  • Must have photo identification
