VINTAGE BASE BALL & RAMSEY HOUSE TOUR

The Tennessee Association of Vintage Base ball was established in 2012 to entertain and educate our communities by recreating the civility of 19th century base ball. We promote living history by bringing the 19th century to life through base ball events that use the rules, equipment, costumes and culture of the 1860s.

HISTORIC RAMSEY HOUSE

Knoxville’s first builder, English architect Thomas Hope, completed Ramsey House in 1797 for Colonel Francis Alexander Ramsey. The two-story home, regarded as one of the finest of its time, is constructed of Tennessee pink marble and blue limestone. Until the U. S. Civil War, the Ramsey family operated a sizeable plantation on the property. Today, the home remains significant for its original interior and exterior architectural features, as well as its period decorative art collection.

Arrive at the Ramsey House around 11:15am so you will have time to get your seats and a bite
to eat so you can enjoy the Knoxville Holstons Base ball game which starts at noon. Following
the game, we will tour the Historic Ramsey House which should take about an hour. You can
bring camp chairs with you for the game. Food is available for sale at the baseball game.

COST: $5 per person (which covers the House Tour). Base ball game donations are appreciated.

LAST DAY TO SIGN-UP/GET REFUNDS – 6-30-18
