About Us

Tellico Village Singers is an auditioned, volunteer concert choir averaging 110 members. While most members are residents of Tellico Village, we have singers from across the Tellico area. All are welcome to audition and share both our love of music and the joy we experience from seeing the smiles on the faces of our large audiences.

Our music is secular and incudes jazz, pop, Broadway, movie scores, and The Great American Songbook. We feature patriotic arrangements and Americana in our July concerts.

We are a family, united by our passion and thirst for choral music. We believe that music brings people together and transcends differences. Our Singers love and care for each other, laugh and grieve together, and enjoy each other’s company. We thrive on the challenges of increasingly complex musical arrangements while we have lots of fun singing them!

Tellico Voices is an elite 20-person ensemble that performs with the Tellico Village Singers but also makes music within the community. Its smaller size produces intimate concerts and singing for special events in the surrounding communities.

 Since our small beginnings in 2017, Tellico Village Singers has been performing to sold-out audiences annually.

 Tellico Village Singers is a registered 501(c) non-profit organization.

Performances

Tellico Village Singers’ concerts are performed in early March of each year as part of the Community Church at Tellico Village Concert Series. Two performances are scheduled for each concert series, and we occasionally offer a third concert as indicated by advance ticket sales. Tickets are available at the church office or through a subscription to the entire concert series.

In early July of each year, we perform patriotic concerts immediately before Independence Day. Depending on where Independence Day falls on the calendar, a third concert can be offered. Each year we select a worthy charity and ask our guests to generously donate. Thanks to our audiences, many thousands of dollars are raised each year.

All concerts are held at The Community Church at Tellico Village, 130 Chota Center, Loudon, TN 37774.

Auditions

The Tellico Village Singers welcomes all interested singers from local and surrounding communities to audition. This is a private audition with the director and can be scheduled at a mutually agreed upon day and time. Acceptance into the choir is determined by the Director with results delivered in a prompt and timely manner. Among other factors in the audition, the Director will determine the intonation (matching pitch) and will pay special attention to vocal quality.

Requirements:

While the ability to read music is very helpful, it is not a requirement to audition. Rehearsal tapes for each part (soprano, alto, tenor, and bass) are available and are used by many singers. This will also build confidence in group and personal rehearsal time.

Rehearsal overview:

Rehearsals are scheduled on Monday afternoons, 2:20 PM to 4:30 PM throughout the concert season, in the Community Church at Tellico Village sanctuary. Rehearsal times/hours may be extended closer to concert dates. Although rehearsal attendance is VERY important, we also understand the need for personal vacations and visits to and with family and friends. For uniformity of sound and balance, tighter attendance requirements are in place in the immediate weeks prior to any concert.
