The Barter Theater is located at 110 West Main Street; Martha Washington Inn is located at 150 West Main Street. Google maps advises drive time is 2.5 hours. Plan to arrive by 1:30p on 9-20-18 at the Barter Theatre Stage - Play begins at 2:00 Cost: $80 per person – NO REFUNDS AFTER JULY 31st The package includes 1 matinee theatre ticket to see the Bridges of Madison County at the Barter Theatre, a buffet dinner at the Martha Washington Inn and a history presentation by historian-educator Amy Looney. She will help us discover Abingdon’s past with entertaining accurate stories along with a few ghost stories. Virginia Creeper trail (bike tour), visit to the Abingdon Vineyard and Winery or Vincent’s Vineyard in Lebanon, visit the Muster Grounds at Abingdon, the Holston Mountain Artisans Shop, the William King Museum of Art, Kayak on the Fork, Arts Depot (where with a minimum of 10 visitors we can make a project) or take a journey down the Abingdon Antiques trail, visiting the Abingdon antique mall, the Antique Barn, Wolf Hills Antique, Foxglove Antiques, Zephyr Antiques and Jerroleens Shed. And on the way home, make a side trip to Gray, TN (near Johnson City) and visit Gray’s fossil site where in 2000, fossils of prehistoric animals were found.
